Edward L. Osborn, M.D.

Dr. Osborn was born in Norwalk, CT.  He graduated from Fordham College and then from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.  After a year of general medical internship, he enlisted in the U.S. Public Health Service where he served Native Americas (mainly Navajo and Hopi Indians) in Winslow, Arizona. 

It was in Arizona where Dr. Osborn developed an interest in ophthalmology after seeing many patients blinded from ocular trachoma.He completed a four year residency in ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Osborn practiced general ophthalmology in Torrington, CT for 34 years before joining the Fichman Eye Center in 2015.

He has four children and five grandchildren.  He enjoys many outdoor activities such as kayaking and he is a world traveler who enjoys high altitude trekking.
