Dr. Randy P. Bouligny, MD
Dr. Bouligny was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana and went to medical school at Cornell University Medical College in New York City. Between his third and fourth year of medical school, Dr. Bouligny became interested in ophthalmology and took a year off to perform research in ocular immunology at the National Institutes of Health as a member of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholars Program in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Bouligny then completed his residency in ophthalmology at West Virginia University in Morgantown and a fellowship in glaucoma at The University of California San Diego. Dr. Bouligny started his clinical career in private practice in Texas and, as he became interested in academics, became a member of the faculty at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas, the University of Kansas, and Louisiana State University in New Orleans, where he directed the glaucoma service.
In 2013 Dr. Bouligny joined Dr. Fichman to provide medical and surgical expertise in glaucoma and in comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Bouligny is an antique car enthusiast and sports enthusiast and enjoys spending time with his family.
